I had a really hysterical thing happen to me yesterday … actually, something that I was involved in … and I'm telling you about it today because it has to do with a bigger thing that I've been planning to talk with all of you about since the U.S. election happened last week.
Now, you may have been involved in the election. You may have been a country looking onto the election. You may not even care what happened to the election. But you know that there's A LOT of emotion moving around the planet right now. So, I've been thinking about the highest priority reminders I can share with you to help you adjust.
Because … it's ALL about adjusting your thought.
It's all about adjusting your vibration.
It's all about the vibration you put out to the world … because we're all energetic beings. We are just energy up and down, left and right. We're always interacting with the energy around us, and we can do this in a positive way or we can do it in a negative way.
Esther Hicks often says, “Choose a better thought.”
Choose a better thought to shift your vibration in a new direction. Well, some people are probably thinking, “I don't know how to do that. I'm so wadded up. I don't even know what to do. I don’t know how to even choose a better feeling thought.”
So, one of the things I recommend is that you immediately get involved in a give, that you go find a way to give … that you find a way to provide service, that you do something for your community, that you do something for somebody who's struggling. This immediately raises the vibration of who you are and how you feel about your world.
Hysterical chaos giving counts, too
So, about yesterday.
I have a radio station show. It's actually on a little radio station we have in Laguna Beach called KXFM 104.7 … it also streams at KXFMRadio.org
I do a “Best of Laguna Beach” show on Monday afternoons, and I love it. It's fun. It's live. I bring in chefs, I bring in a phenomenal restaurant developer. I bring in my great buddy, Ruben, who talks about gardens and trees and going to dinners with me around town – he and his partner, Nelson, they're always my “Plus Twos.”
So, this week, this nonprofit radio station is doing its annual fundraising drive. All of us who work there are volunteers. Nobody's getting paid, but they do have to have some funds to keep the lights on, to keep the microphones working, all that antenna in the sky kind of thing.
Yesterday, they started the fundraising. Prior to my “Best of Laguna hour,” Ruben and I were sending all kinds of texts and emails out to all of our peeps to try to get them to call in during the hour so that we could acknowledge them for donating to the cause.
Why is this super fun? Because it raises the vibration of everyone. Anytime that you donate or give, you're doing something beautiful for something else out there, and it enriches you. You are acting from a place of abundance, and there’s no wadded up negativity in that action.
For a couple days prior, Ruben and I start gathering all our people. I call him the “Mayor of Laguna Beach” and I run this big “Best of Laguna Beach thing, so people know us.
We get into our studio and we started the show … and I started explaining how this hour was going to be devoted to fundraising.
And right in the middle of my first sentence, the studio phone starts lighting up like a Christmas tree.
Now, we had been told by the powers that be that they were going to be there for us to help answer the phones and all that kind of thing, but nobody was prepared for all these lights to go off on the phone all at once. Our callers were ON IT!
Now, I want you to picture this: Reuben and I are in this little radio studio, and there's a glass wall between us and the people who are in the community room, the leaders of the pack … and they're eating donuts, they're having pizza, and they're yapping calmly with each other.
And Ruben and I, meanwhile, are there with all these lights going on, but there's only one phone line. How are all these lights happening? No idea. So we're trying to answer the calls, and I’ve got the attention of one of the guys in the other room and he runs in to try to help me. So for a couple minutes there, he was sitting behind me, rabidly trying to answer the phone, and I’m pushing all the buttons to get our people on the live show so that everyone can hear our caller …
I would try to answer a call and put them on the radio to talk with us about their beautiful donation and how beautiful they are as human beings. Ruben (by silent, flailing hands communication between us) began taking the lead to talk to them while I answered the waiting, second blinking light…
But I soon realized that if I went to a second or third, blinking light to try to put those people in a queue, the phone would drop the first person we were currently talking to.
I mean, just drop that person like a rock.
I mean … at one point we're talking to this wonderful multimillionaire restaurant developer out of Dallas who called in with a big donation and Reuben's talking with him, and I'm answering another call, and I just cut off the multimillionaire – BOOM – just like that.
It was hysterical. ALL these phone lights are going off … we’ve lost our helper … and Ruben's kind of trying to hold the conversation until I get people onto the call … and then I'm trying to get Ruben to wrap up and button up so we can introduce the next caller … but it didn’t matter because all these well-meaning callers are falling off the raft left and right.
Meanwhile, I'm knocking on the glass wall and trying to stretch my headphone cord all the way to the door so I can open it and holler for help …Our hair is on fire in HERE, and they're over THERE, in the other room, like … having pizza, kibbitzing in a calm, cool manner.
You had to be there. It was like an “I love Lucy” skit. It was just hysterical.
I love the people who run this non-profit radio station. They’re awesome. They just weren't prepared for it either. They weren't prepared for this onslaught of people who wanted to call in and support us during this hour that Ruben and I were on the show.
Now, that says a lot for love. That says a lot for people who support you, and for people who want to give and want to be in the vibration of joy and love and friendship and community.
Everyone wants to be there. Everyone wants to be there.
Remember this: No matter how wadded up they may seem, no matter how frustrated or angry they may be, everyone wants to be on the other side where it's blissful, it's enjoyable, it's funny, it's community, it's connection.
So, choose the best better feeling thought and the best better feeling action by moving into some kind of service.
It's awesome. It shifts your vibration IMMEDIATELY.
Now, the other thing I want to remind you, too, from yesterday’s Lucille Ball moment …
Don't worry about your action being perfect. Do it imperfectly.
Yesterday was a huge example of imperfection. It was absolute chaos, funny imperfection. It doesn’t matter. You’re DOING something that makes you feel good, that make you laugh, and THAT’S what matters.
I had another great client of mine launch a big Substack blog yesterday. We spent months and months to get her to the point of where she was really willing to launch this thing. She sent me a note this morning and said, “I'm a different person than I was two days ago because I pushed through ‘The Terror Barrier.’ I pushed through the feeling that everything had to be perfect, and I know that I could actually launch something imperfectly and I would still be loved. I would still be OK.”
This is what is so important. Move into that better feeling thought. Move into that better feeling service, and do it NOW … imperfectly. Do it imperfectly.
Give of your greatest energy of YOU.
Remember … we’re energetic beings always interacting with the energetic universe around us, always interacting with the energetic beings in front of us, with and through all of the energy around us.
How do you want to send out that vibration? Because that vibration is creating ripples and waves.
If you can do anything that makes you feel so good … if you can do anything that makes you laugh hysterically … (I was still chuckling about this at midnight last night. It was just chaos yesterday. Chaos!) … If you can do THAT, then you're not only changing your vibration, you're changing the world.
Make it a great vibration day.
P.S. If you’re interested in learning more about my goofy, lovely “Best of Laguna Beach” world:
P.P.S. And heck. (Shrug.) I might as well ask because the thought just occurred to me. If you want to give to my mighty, mighty “streamed ’round the world” nonprofit radio station, here’s your door of opportunity. And it’s tax deductible! (And if you’re not interested, please don’t go off in a huff and unsubscribe. That’s wadded up. If it’s not for you, no worries. This is all about keeping the vibration high.)
